TechCrunch has announced the 13 contestants competing at Startup Battlefield, taking place at this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin. An additional wildcard contestant will also be announced later today. The wildcard contestant will be selected by an audience vote and TechCrunch editorial staff from the Startup Alley.

Taking place at Arena Berlin, TechCrunch Disrupt will bring together 3,000 of the industry’s most high-profile thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and VCs, as they discuss the industry’s most current topics to represent emerging trends in the business of technology.

Central to TechCrunch Disrupt, Startup Battlefield brings together the world’s top early-stage startups on one stage to compete for the coveted Disrupt Cup, a US$50,000 prize along with the attention of the media and investors. Previous winners of the Startup Battlefield competition include market leaders such as Mint, Yammer, Dropbox and mobile search startup Vurb who Snapchat acquired for $110 million.

  • Gmelius – helps collaboration with teams to grow their business together with a help desk, an account management solution and automation tools present right inside Gmail and G Suite.
  • Hawa Dawa – transforming data on air pollution into real insights for greener cities & future-oriented companies
  • Inovat – a digital solution that offers the best VAT refund experience for travellers, making their journey stress-free
  • Nodle Cash – the world’s largest ecosystem of connected devices, providing infrastructure, software and access to data for the Internet of Things
  • Nyxo – a science-based mobile sleep coaching service.
  • Scaled Robotics – an industry-backed Barcelona-based Robotics startup that is transforming the construction industry.
  • Stable – the world’s largest index insurance platform, hosting over 3,000 commodities from over 40 countries
  • Teooh –  an avatar-based virtual event platform that connects passion, professional and enterprise communities like they are sitting in the same room.
  • Wotch – a brand new creator-first video sharing platform.
