NordVPN, one of the largest VPN service providers, has launched its latest cybersecurity product — NordLocker. The new tool secures all types of files stored on a user’s computer, or in the cloud, with end-to-end encryption.

NordVPN now aims to become an all-around cybersecurity solution with two other cybersecurity products announced earlier this year. This new product release comes only a month after announcing a data breach in a NordVPN data center.

NordVPN’s new NordLocker features folder-like “lockers,” designed to hold encrypted files that can only be accessed with a master password. The tool is handy for protecting sensitive data like including finances, IDs, work files, or any other confidential information.

NordLocker’s cryptosystem uses the most advanced ciphers and principles, featuring Argon2, AES256, ECC (with XChaCha20, EdDSA, and Poly1305), and other creations of modern cryptography. Running on both Windows and macOS, NordLocker supports documents of any type and size.

The easy-to-use app offers users a safe way to encrypt files and share them via email, messaging apps, or file transfer services. A free version of NordLocker gives users 5GB of encrypted data while premium users can encrypt unlimited amounts of data.
