Maxon, the developers of professional software solutions for editors, filmmakers, motion designers, visual effects artists, and creators of all types, has announced a comprehensive update to a series of products in the Maxon One family. The latest release includes enhanced compatibility and features across their software offerings.
One of the notable updates is in Redshift, which now includes support for Autodesk Maya 2024 on Windows. This allows users to take advantage of Redshift’s powerful rendering capabilities within Maya. Additionally, Redshift for 3DS Max now includes camera and backplate functionality, allowing users to easily apply different backplates for each camera, either in-render or as a post-effect.
Cinema 4D also receives an update with the addition of a new material preset for Principled Hair. This makes it easier to create realistic hair with nuanced settings for texture and shape variation. The update also brings general performance and stability improvements across multiple software packages, including 3DS Max, Cinema 4D, and Houdini.
In the VFX realm, Maxon introduces Real Lens Flares in Adobe Premiere Pro. This feature allows editors to add realistic lens flares to their footage, based on simulated optical models and ray traced light. It offers an unprecedented amount of artistic control to create the most realistic looking lens flares possible. Supercomp also receives an upgrade, providing more realistic and beautiful Light Wrap, Reverse Light Wrap, and Diffusion effects with enhanced creative control.
Maxon Capsules, a collection of tailor-made assets to enhance projects, adds twelve new Laubwerk Plant assets. Designed by vegetation experts Laubwerk, these assets include trees like Maple and Cherry, as well as bushes like Lavender and Dutch Garlic, and tropical stand-outs like the Kentia Palm. This expands the range of assets available to artists, allowing them to create more immersive scenes.
