Fitbit has announced that it will be acquired by Google for $7.35 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $2.1 billion. Fitbit states that it will remain transparent about the data it collects and that Fitbit health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads.

Fitbit will continue to remain platform-agnostic across both Android and iOS.
