Accenture has announced a strategic investment in Parfin, a leading provider of responsible and compliant Web3 infrastructure services to financial institutions in Latin America. This marks Accenture’s first investment in Latin America through their Accenture Ventures “Project Spotlight” program. Parfin offers digital asset custody, trading, tokenization, and management tools to some of the largest financial institutions in the region.
Parfin is currently developing Parchain, a permissioned blockchain technology that enables regulated entities to participate in decentralized finance (DeFi) and asset tokenization. This technology positions financial institutions to participate in the digital economy and has the potential to expand the scope of Brazil’s central bank digital currency.
Accenture believes that Web3, digital identity, and digital asset platforms like Parfin’s are challenging global financial services organizations to rethink their digital asset strategies. With Parfin’s enterprise-grade digital assets and blockchain infrastructure, Accenture aims to accelerate and enable Brazil’s largest financial institutions to leverage digital asset transactions using a compliant and secure technology platform.
Leonardo Framil, CEO of Accenture Growth Markets, stated that Web3 requires new infrastructure that many financial institutions don’t have, and Parfin is a perfect fit with Accenture’s strategy to advance the adoption of digital currency worldwide.
Parfin joins Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, which is an engagement and investment program focused on disruptive enterprise technologies. The program connects emerging technology startups with the Global 2000 to fill innovation gaps and provides access to Accenture’s domain expertise and enterprise clients. Parfin’s CEO, Marcos Viriato, expressed that Accenture’s global presence and industry expertise make them an ideal strategic investor to help Parfin develop next-generation infrastructure for the global adoption of digital assets. With Accenture’s support, Parfin can expand its solution offerings to new clients in Latin America and around the world.
